Planter’s House

The hotel data

The Planter’s House in Koslanda enjoys a special location within the confines of one of Sri Lanka’s most historic tea estates created by Sir Thomas Lipton in 1890. Lipton’s Seat, his favourite viewpoint, sits just above the hotel. The garden fronting this 19th-century bungalow is a classically British design of manicured lawn, flower borders, and pockets of shrubs.

Six ensuite bedrooms and a two-bedroom cottage provide accommodation for guests, all decorated with period wooden floors and congruous colonial-style furnishings like four-poster beds and a fireplace. Each room also has an ensuite bathroom with hot-water rain shower.

Relax in the infinity pool with its glorious tea country vistas or indulge in a pampering spa treatment. Western and Sri Lankan cuisine is available, including a traditional tea bed. The Planter’s House is informal and laidback, and meals can be enjoyed any time in a spot of your preference. There is also a fitness centre, well-stocked bar, table tennis and trampoline, as well as board games
